DODIK: RULING COALITION TO RUN IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS, SINIŠA KARAN NOMINATED AS CANDIDATE

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 6 /SRNA/ – The parties of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska agreed today to take part in the upcoming early presidential election, with Siniša Karan, representing the SNSD, as their joint candidate.

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that the presidents of the coalition parties will form the Election Headquarters. “We agreed to hold a referendum and to convene a session of the National Assembly, as it is necessary for the Assembly to discuss the issue,” Dodik said after the coalition leaders’ meeting. He stated that the referendum will retain the same question regarding Christian Schmidt and the Court of BiH but added that the possibility will be opened for the Bosniak representatives to appeal. "We are determined for the referendum to be held," Dodik emphasized. If Bosniak representatives continue to file constant appeals, Dodik stressed that the referendum will likely be held on January 9.
