ČOVIĆ: WE ADVOCATE FOR PEACE, EUROPEAN PATH, AND EQUALITY OF PEOPLES
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 13 /SRNA/ - HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović said today in Banja Luka that the HDZ strongly advocates for peace in BiH, the European path, and full constitutional equality of the three constituent peoples.
Čović stated that the HDZ views the equality of peoples through legal representation. "We presented this today to our friends from the SNSD, just as we have in the past month or two to all other parties," Čović said at a press conference following the meeting with the SNSD. Čović said that Council of Ministers Chairwoman Borjana Krišto presented clear positions at the meeting on what should be done regarding this issue at the level of the Council of Ministers. He added that regret was expressed over the fact that the budget for BiH institutions has still not been adopted, and that incorrect approaches by the BiH Presidency led to this situation. "We will have to sit down very soon and agree on corrections to whatever can be jointly fixed in the budget," Čović said. Čović emphasized that there is intensive communication with the SNSD and that the HDZ is committed to reaching an agreement. "We have clearly stated that we will continue the partnership we have built until the next general elections. In the House of Peoples, my colleague Nikola Špirić and I strive to reach agreements on all issues, and we are trying to carry this over to the House of Representatives as well, so that nothing would be stalled," Čović said. He thanked the SNSD for their hospitality and expressed confidence that progress will be made on important issues.
