KOVAČEVIĆ: TIME OF JUSTICE FOR REPUBLIKA SRPSKA COMING

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 18 /SRNA/ – SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević says that the process of lifting U.S. sanctions imposed on individuals who defended Republika Srpska and its citizens’ interests has begun.
"I believe this is very significant news, but the most important statement is that this is a process that has started, a time of justice for Republika Srpska is coming", said Kovačević. According to him, it has once again been demonstrated that SNSD is the only credible partner in Republika Srpska and the most credible one in BiH, something the international partners understand well. Kovačević reminded that the past three to four years have been difficult for Republika Srpska. "The period was difficult not because Republika Srpska was aggressive toward anyone, but because Republika Srpska, heaed by Milorad Dodik, was determined to defend its status, autonomy, and rights granted by the Dayton Peace Agreement", Kovačević told RTRS. Kovačević added there would have been no problems if it was accepted, like some in the opposition unfortunately did, to have less of Republika Srpska, which led to threats of war. He recalled that just weeks ago, there was sabre-rattling from Sarajevo, with constant mention of the worst-case scenarios, while Republika Srpska was being persecuted in every possible way, through sanctions and the shameful political prosecution of the Srpska president via a so-called judicial process. "Now we are slowly emerging from all of this as victors. Why? Because we have been making responsible political decisions all along. We maneuvered in the way we needed to in order to resist the attacks on Republika Srpska", said Kovačević, who is also a Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. He assessed that those who attacked Republika Srpska and wanted to see it gone have been defeated. "Only their helpers from Srpska remain who will be defeated in November this year or in October next year", Kovačević concluded.
