THERE IS NO SOLUTION IN THE BALKANS WITHOUT NEW U.S. ADMINISTRATION
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, assessed that nothing can be resolved in the Balkans without the involvement of a new U.S. administration.
Cvijanović emphasized that she firmly stands by this view, noting that a relaxation of relations with the U.S. has been evident since the new administration took office. “They have nothing against anyone; they did not choose us, but the fact is that the Serbs and Republika Srpska have been put in a situation of inequality. We must first resolve that, and then everything else,” Cvijanović said. She noted that this is also highlighted by the statement from the U.S. State Department, which expressed support for Republika Srpska following the recent special session of the National Assembly, during which the acting president of Republika Srpska was elected. “This showed that, after many years, the U.S. got involved and is working on an agreement with Republika Srpska to resolve certain situations and crises. They also stated that they want to restore cooperation with Republika Srpska, which many media outlets in the Federation of BiH did not report,” Cvijanović told ATV. She noted that this is only the beginning of the process of finding solutions that will lead to peace and stability. “This is not any kind of capitulation, but a well-thought-out plan,” Cvijanović said.
