SRPSKA ENABLED GOOD BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT FOR INVESTMENTS
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 24 /SRNA/ – The Iskra factory keeps developing and has already launched new investments thanks to the favourable business environment in Republika Srpska and the good functioning of its system, said Iskra owner Dušan Šešok after touring the factory with President Milorad Dodik.
Šešok told the press in Trn near Laktaši that the new plant, which opened just over a year ago, is operating successfully, with only a few production lines left to fully achieve the planned output. He praised the workers, saying he was satisfied with their commitment, and noted that the factory currently employs just over 250 people. “We are now building a new plant in Topola, on an area of 12,000 square meters, that should be completed in half a year. It will process aluminum and copper for the needs of our factory in Zagreb,” said Šešok. He explained that it is a large, automated production facility that does not require a large workforce, adding that around 70 people will be employed there. “All the products will be for export, and we expect annual revenues of around EUR 180 million,” Šešok specified. He added that his company has partnered with a firm whose CEO is Petar Polić, which aims to make certain investments in Srpska. Polić stated that his company, SMP, based in Portorož, wants to invest in Republika Srpska after seeing for himself that it offers a stable business environment. He noted that his company works in the field of electronics development and invests heavily in solar energy, adding that the plan is to build a solar panel factory in Srpska with an initial capacity of 500 megawatts.
