VUČEVIĆ: UNITY AND FAITH FOR REPUBLIKA SRPSKA VICTORY
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 24 /SRNA/ – The envoy of the President of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, called on politicians from Republika Srpska this evening in Banja Luka to remain united for Srpska, for its victory, and emphasized that Serbs have always gathered together, deliberated, and reflected on what is best for their people and their state.
In his address at the ceremonial gathering marking the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Vučević congratulated Srpska and its officials on the jubilee of establishing the legitimate and sovereign authority of the Serb people’s will in the then BiH. Speaking about the importance of the Assembly, Vučević pointed out that the Serb people have been gathering in assemblies since the Middle Ages, urging those present to believe in Republika Srpska, which thanks to that unity and faith, will prevail. He stressed that the significance of such gatherings among Serbs is also reflected in the fact that the Serbian Orthodox Church /SOC/ has, since its inception, used the term assembly for the place where all the most important decisions are made. Vučević emphasized that the Serb people has survived throughout history because of their faith. “Otherwise, it cannot be explained how we, as a people, survived the horrors of the Second World War—Jasenovac, Pag, Sisak, Jadovno, Jastrebarsko, Lepoglava, the church in Glina, Šargovac, Motike, Drakulić, or the hellish massacre at Stari Brod on the Drina,” Vučević said. He added that the same can be said for the suffering during the 1990s wars o, such as the deaths of the Banja Luka babies, and crimes committed in Sijekovac, Pofalići, Kukavice, Kravice, Skelani, and elsewhere. Vučević warned that Serbs today are still exposed to attacks aimed at erasing their ideological and national identity. He told those present to remember that they are brothers and that they must act as such in order to survive and prevail. “I believe in that strength and victory,” Vučević concluded.
