DODIK: BiH'S FOREIGN POLICY FAILED

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik has stated today that BiH's foreign policy has failed, which has created a new strategic position for Republika Srpska.

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik has stated today that BiH's foreign policy has failed, which has created a new strategic position for Republika Srpska.

"Elmedin Konaković /Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers/ is at the end of his career. He achieved what was necessary for Republika Srpska. He was greedy enough to get involved in all of this, and because of that, we managed to break the key levers of Muslim power in BiH, which were held by Osman Mehmedagić Osmica and the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH /OBA/," Dodik said. He has emphasized that Konaković only wanted to enter government. "When the Muslims realized that the most important positions remained in the hands of Serbs and Croats, they began to protest. They keep trying to say that we are Russian proxies, but that hasn't brought any results," Dodik added. Speaking about foreign policy, Dodik says Srpska fights for itself and that its representatives did not go through Sarajevo to reach centres of power such as Brussels or Moscow. "There will also be a regular session of the UN Security Council on BiH. When it comes to the attitude toward the OHR, there are changes in international circles. The change of power in the U.S. has made this possible, and somehow Christian Schmidt has gone quiet," Dodik told RTRS. He believes that Schmidt has understood that his time is up and that everything will be settled at formal meetings, even though he is still being defended by Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. He emphasized that the U.S. has not defined its foreign policy toward BiH, noting that even the U.S. ambassador in Sarajevo has not been appointed. "U.S. President Donald Trump said that unsustainable state-nations will not be built. There was talk in BiH of `one man, one vote,` i.e. a nation-state that would favour Muslims. That did not happen, nor will it," Dodik concluded.
