KOJIĆ SUPPORTED KOTOR VAROŠ PEOPLE, NO COMMEMORATION OF ALLEGED SUFFERING SHOULD BE ALLOWED
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ – The Serb people in the municipality of Kotor Varoš are being stigmatized over situations and fabricated events for which there is no evidence, which should not be allowed, SNSD MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Milorad Kojić told SRNA.
After the Bosniak association Vrbanja from Kotor Varoš announced that it would mark on November 3 the 33rd anniversary of the alleged suffering in the village of Grabovica, Kojić emphasized that this represents a serious security issue for the municipality and that such an event should certainly not be permitted. "Where does such behavior end, what comes next?" asked Kojić, who is also the former director of the Republic Research Centre of War, War Crimes, and Tracing Missing Persons. Kojić expressed his support for the local population of Kotor Varoš who opposed the announcement and are demanding that the competent authorities deny permission for the event. "It is clear that the intention is to stigmatize the Serb people living in Kotor Varoš by trying to commemorate something for which there is absolutely no evidence," Kojić stressed. According to him, this can primarily be viewed as a form of provocation and an attempt to inflame interethnic tensions. something neither necessary nor beneficial at this time. "The stigmatization of one people, in this case the Serb people, cannot contribute to coexistence or reconciliation in these areas," Kojić stressed. He recalled that even the crime that took place in Dobrovoljačka Street in Sarajevo, widely known and publicly documented, for which an indictment was filed against Ejup Ganić, the Serbs have for years been prevented from marking at the actual site where it occurred. "Even when we do hold commemorations, there are large police forces, strong Bosniaks resistance, and Green Berets’ provocations regarding an unquestionable crime and the killing of young JNA soldiers in Dobrovoljačka Street," Kojić noted.
