KOVAČEVIĆ: SRPSKA IS PARTNER TO BE TALKED WITH, AND OPPOSITION’S CLAIMS ABOUT SOME KIND OF SELL-OUT ARE NONSENSE AND ABSURDITY
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ - All this nonsense and absurdity coming from the opposition, claiming that the SNSD has betrayed or sold something to have those unjustly imposed sanctions lifted, only shows that they are an integral part of the Sarajevo political concept, according to which Republika Srpska must sell something significant to gain something, SNSD Spokesman Radovan Kovačević said.
“That period of selling out Republika Srpska is forever in the past, and this has only confirmed it once again,” Kovačević told SRNA, commenting on opposition claims in Republika Srpska that the SNSD had ‘sold something’ for the sanctions against Srpska officials to be lifted. He emphasized that the concept according to which no one talks with Republika Srpska, but only about it, and always in a negative context, belongs to the past, and that all those who were the main advocates of that concept have now been completely defeated. “Our desire was for all people from Republika Srpska to be removed from the U.S. sanctions list, and we worked hard toward that. However, the public must understand that the sanctions have now been lifted only for those individuals who were unjustly sanctioned under the administrations of U.S. Presidents /Joseph/ Biden and /Barack/ Obama; unfortunately, people from the SDS ended up under sanctions much earlier, and that could not be changed at this time,” Kovačević said. Kovačević emphasized that proof this is not a case of politically motivated lifting of sanctions favoring only the SNSD or its partners lies in the fact that senior SNSD official Savo Cvjetinović, long-time president of the SNSD Municipal Board in Lopare, remains under sanctions. “So, this is about the consequences of the catastrophic policies of U.S. Presidents Biden and Obama being corrected, both in America and around the world, and that certainly brings a much better position for Republika Srpska and for the Serb constituent people,” Kovačević concluded.
