JASENOVAC IS NOT MYTH BUT FACT, CRIME MUST NOT BE DENIED
ZAGREB, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ - Jasenovac is not a myth but a fact, a camp where people were killed simply because they were Serbs, Jews, and Roma, and this crime must not be denied, which is exactly what happened in the Croatian Parliament, said the President of the Serb National Council, Boris Milošević.
After a panel on Jasenovac held in the Croatian Parliament, representatives of the Serb National Council said today that it was a shameful gathering, not a scientific one, but one based on denial. At a press conference, Milošević said that the gathering, held on Tuesday, was a disgrace for the Croatian Parliament. "Jasenovac is not a myth, but a fact, a camp where people were killed simply because they were Serbs, Jews, and Roma, declared undesirable by the regime at the time. The crime must not be denied, yet that is what happened in the Parliament. The NDH /Independent State of Croatia/ was spoken of positively, and constitutional values were trampled in the mud," Milošević said. MP Dragana Jeckov emphasized that blatant lies were told at the panel under the roof of the Parliament, that everything the public could hear involved attempts to relativize the crime, including revising the numbers, and denying the suffering of the victims. "It was one-sided, ideologically biased, and offensive, especially to me as a representative of a people who, in the NDH, were destined for extermination. The parliamentary podium turned into a training ground for Ustashe slogans. I wonder, what’s next - racial laws on the parliamentary benches?" Jeckov said. The president of the SDSS, Milorad Pupovac, believes there is no point in engaging in a debate with people who persist in a campaign glorifying the crimes of the NDH. He assessed that there is nothing scientific in their statements, calling it a shameful misuse of mathematics and statistics, reports Jutarnji List. “I want to preserve dignity - my own, that of the country we live in, and the dignity of the victims, which has been insulted for decades. Anyone who seriously studies the subject knows that the terror began on April 10, 1941,” Pupovac said. The Constitutional Court has been called upon to protect the constitutional order of Croatia.
