MINIĆ: PROPOSED AGREEMENT ON GAS-RES TAKING OVER KOMSAR TO BE COMPLETED BY THURSDAY
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 3 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said today in Banja Luka that it has been agreed that a proposal for the final agreement on Gas-Res taking over Komsar will be completed by Thursday, November 6, and that the Ugljevik Mine and Thermal Power Plant /RiTE/ may exploit the "Istok 2" coal deposit.
"The excavation will be carried out using our own machinery, and there will be no involvement of other entities. A thematic session of the Government of Republika Srpska on this issue is expected to be held next Monday", Minić said at a press conference after a meeting with representatives of RiTE Ugljevik, Gas-Res, and the relevant ministry. Regarding the operations of thermal power plants, Minić emphasized that business practices must be raised to a professional level, adding that after the session of the Government of Republika Srpska, he will have a clearer picture, with the goal of bringing this sector into good condition. "I hope that everything concerning the takeover of Komsar will be completed within the next ten days. Gacko has more significant coal reserves and more stable production, but poorer coal quality. The issue is complex, but no improvisation will be allowed", Minić said. He expressed hope that, following today’s meetings, the workers of Ugljevik would resume work so that electricity production could start again on Friday. "We are fighting both for the workers and for the jobs. This situation has caused damage to all of us, and we could have sat down earlier to identify and resolve everything", Minić said.
