GOGANOVIĆ TO HELEZ: PEOPLE DECIDE, NOT SARAJEVO'S AMBITIONS!
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – With its decision to reject the appeal filed by the legal team of President Milorad Dodik, the Constitutional Court of BiH has missed an important opportunity to restore the trust of citizens of Republika Srpska in this institution, said Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović.
"The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik enjoys clear and strong support among the citizens of Republika Srpska. Republika Srpska will continue to use all legal mechanisms, including international ones, to protect its constitutional rights and interests," Goganović stated for SRNA. Responding to the remarks by Defense Minister Zukan Helez about the "end of Dodik's political career," Goganović said that political performances were no substitute for results. "While certain individuals in Sarajevo fantasize about political score-settling, Republika Srpska has launched the strongest international phase of its fight for rights guaranteed under the Dayton Peace Accords, and for the interests of the Serb people, led by its legitimately elected president," Goganović stressed. He underlined that the fate of Republika Srpska will not be determined by Helez or any political adventurism, but by the Serb people who have elected their representatives. The incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH yesterday rejected the appeal filed by President Milorad Dodik's legal team against the verdict of the BiH Court, which sentenced him to one year in prison and six years of prohibition from political activity for "non-compliance with the decisions of Christian Schmidt".
