OFFICIALS VISIT SUPPLY TUNNEL FOR DABAR HYDROPOWER PLANT
BERKOVIĆI, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – Officials of Republika Srpska visited the supply tunnel of the Dabar Hydropower Plant /HPP/, which was recently completed.
The tunnel was toured by President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Savo Minić, Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić, and the management of Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, which will take a tour through the facility. Statements to the media are planned at the tunnel exit. During a presentation held at the premises of the Chinese company Gezhouba, photos were shown depicting the progress from President Dodik's first meeting with company representatives up to the present day, when the breakthrough of the supply tunnel, the most demanding structure within the Upper Horizons system — was completed. In Nevesinje, the officials will visit the Pošćenje dam, where they will attend a ceremony marking the completion of the Dabar HPP supply tunnel breakthrough, one of the largest hydroenergy plants in Republika Srpska. The Nevesinje–Dabar Field tunnel, approximately 13 kilometers long, was officially completed on October 24. The demanding and complex work was carried out by the company Integral Inženjering. Through the 12,125-meter-long supply tunnel, water will flow from the Pošćenje reservoir to the Dabar Hydropower Plant. The Nevesinje–Dabar Field tunnel, including access tunnels totaling 13 kilometers in length, is valued at around EUR 60 million and financed by Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske. This is the largest hydroenergy facility built in the territory of the former Yugoslavia over the past 35 years. The project involves the construction of an inlet structure 30 meters high, the main supply tunnel 12,125 meters long, and access tunnels with a total length of 850 meters. The supply tunnel passes through two different geological formations. The inlet structure is located along the Zavidolska River, about 3.5 kilometers from the Pošćenje dam.
