KOVAČEVIĆ: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA WILL PREVAIL AGAIN

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska is heading into elections it neither wanted nor requested, as the people have already elected their president for a four-year term, but nevertheless, Republika Srpska will prevail once again, SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević, has stressed in Banja Luka today.

"Sarajevo, Christian Schmidt, and all those who wish Republika Srpska did not exist have acted to annul the election and the will of the Serb people and Republika Srpska," Kovačević told reporters. He stated that the early presidential elections would not have been necessary if all political forces in Republika Srpska had been united. "Unfortunately, there are opposition figures in Republika Srpska who immediately rushed, following Sarajevo and Schmidt's orders, to become candidates and take over one of Republika Srpska's institutions against the will of the people. We could not allow that, which is why SNSD is entering the elections with the message: `Srpska will prevail,`" Kovačević added. He noted that SNSD will remain close to the people throughout the upcoming electoral campaign and deliver key messages to ensure the protection of the interests and continued development of Republika Srpska. "We will start the campaign tomorrow with the posting of the first election poster in Banja Luka, followed by an official opening rally in Bijeljina, as the candidate for president of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan comes from that city. Over the next 14 days, we will travel across Republika Srpska to be with the people and work together on another victory for Srpska!" Kovačević said.
