CVIJANOVIĆ: ELECTIONS ARE DEFENCE OF PEOPLE’S WILL AND RESISTANCE TO WHAT COLONIAL AUTHORITY HAS BROUGHT
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 8 /SRNA/ – SNSD Deputy Leader Željka Cvijanović has stated today in Banja Luka that the upcoming snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska will serve as a defence of the people’s will expressed three years ago in democratic elections, but also as an act of resistance to what the colonial authority has brought to BiH.
Cvijanović emphasized that Republika Srpska will keep speaking out loudly and fighting against this. “This is our commitment, and for such a struggle we need another SNSD victory, which the people of Srpska will recognize, I am certain,” Cvijanović told the press after, together with SNSD leader and presidential candidate Milorad Dodik and Siniša Karan, she placed the first poster of the election campaign. She reminded that these elections came about through manipulation of the Constitution by those who have no authority to determine or decide when elections will be held. “However, our duty is to call on citizens to understand the situation that we have come to elections in this way, but at the same time, the elections should be held in a fair and democratic atmosphere,” Cvijanović said. She assessed that the winner will be the SNSD and Siniša Karan, who has taken on a great responsibility not only on behalf of the SNSD and its coalition partners, but also on behalf of the citizens and people of Srpska. “He has taken on the obligation to prove that we are people capable of living freely on our own land, that even in such difficult and manipulated circumstances we can achieve victory, and that even when rules are made according to someone else’s will, we can reaffirm the people’s will,” Cvijanović stressed. Cvijanović has concluded that the SNSD is ready for victory and to prove that peace, stability, development, and everything that represents progress are on the side of the SNSD, the party that can ensure all of this for Republika Srpska.
