ILLEGAL SCHMIDT IS MAIN CAUSE OF CRISIS IN BiH

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 10 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović and Ambassador of the Russian Federation Igor Kalabukhov stated at a meeting today that the actions of the unelected and illegitimate High Representative Christian Schmidt are the key cause of the political crisis in BiH, and that relations between Republika Srpska and Russia remain at their highest historical level.

At the meeting in Istočno Sarajevo, the interlocutors discussed the current political situation in BiH, as well as geopolitical processes and challenges shaping international relations, the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Defense said in a press release. In an open and constructive dialogue, views were exchanged on ways to consistently uphold the Dayton Peace Agreement and preserve peace, stability, and security. Goganović expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for its consistent and principled support to the Serb people and Republika Srpska, which, as he noted, was once again confirmed at the latest session of the UN Security Council. Ambassador Kalabukhov emphasized that the Russian people will always stand by the Serb people, reiterating that Moscow supports the Dayton Peace Agreement and the equality of the constituent peoples in BiH, without the imposition of external political solutions. The participants highlighted that relations between the Serb and Russian peoples are at their highest historical level, thanks to the friendly ties between President Milorad Dodik and the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The meeting was also attended by Russian Federation Military Attaché to BiH, Brigadier Ilya Skrebnev and Head of the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Defense Aleksandar Nikolić.
