SAVIĆ: ELECTIONS - THE FINAL ACT OF A SHOW DIRECTED BY SCHMIDT AND MURPHY
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 14 /SRNA/ - Political scientist Vojislav Savić told SRNA that the early elections in Republika Srpska are a necessary evil and the final act of a show directed by Christian Schmidt and former US Ambassador Michael Murphy.
"First, they pushed for the trial. The first process, then the second. An appeal followed. But at some point, when Murphy withdrew and Schmidt lost momentum, that engine stalled. This act is all that remains," Savić said. He believes that BiH will enter a new phase in relations once the early elections in Republika Srpska are held, given that this will complete a process whose aim was to eliminate the political representatives of Srpska and undermine its institutions. "The more important question is how Sarajevo will react to this new reality. That process is now finished, and this is the final act of the performance; the curtains are coming down. A new era is opening, one without an American ambassador and without high representatives," Savić said in SRNA's podcast. He stated that the time has come to develop a dialogue among the political representatives of the constituent peoples in BiH, emphasizing that everyone in Sarajevo must accept this reality. "What hurt them more than anything related to Milorad Dodik was the message from the US Embassy in BiH expressing hope for a renewal of relations with Republika Srpska. That is what they find painful. Republika Srpska has been acknowledged. Republika Srpska is no longer on the table — it is now at the table. That is a big difference," Savić stressed. Appearing on the latest episode of the SRNA podcast, Savić also spoke about the US stance toward the EU, Russia, and the new geopolitical dynamics affecting processes in BiH. The podcast featuring political analyst Vojislav Savić will be available tomorrow at 10:00 to users of the SRNA service, as well as on SRNA’s YouTube channel and social media platforms.
