BIJELJINA, NOVEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – Nine units of the Special Police Brigade of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior were the nine pillars of Republika Srpska’s defense, Minister of Interior Željko Budimir has stressed today in Bijeljina.

Budimir emphasized that the Special Police Brigade was one of the most significant units that carried the Defensive-Patriotic War. “Republika Srpska remembers its veterans. They stand with us, feel everything that the Republic goes through, and we honor their sacrifice, especially those who fell in that fight,” Budimir told reporters. He noted that the Special Police Brigade suffered many casualties, which is proof that it was at the front line and carried out missions together with the special units of the Republika Srpska Army. “That is why it is important today to pay tribute to these people, and also to send a message that Republika Srpska still stands at a crossroads, and we must fight so that what they started is fulfilled. Only when Republika Srpska is completely free from Western occupation will we and our children have a future,” Budimir said. In Bijeljina, the Day of the Special Police Brigade of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior is being marked. The memorial for the fallen heroes at King Peter I Karađorđević Square is led by the Metropolitan of Zvornik-Tuzla, Fotije.
