VASIĆ: BOSNIAKS' DESIRE TO ELECT PRESIDENT OF SRPSKA - CONTINUATION OF THEIR AMBITION TO DOMINATE BiH
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 17 /SRNA/ – The desire of Bosniaks to be the decisive factor in the elections for President of Republika Srpska, and to elect the president of the Serb people, is a continuation of their ambition to dominate the whole of BiH, warned sociologist Vladimir Vasić from Istočno Sarajevo.
He told SRNA that officials in Republika Srpska do not interfere at all with the problems in the FBiH, nor its complex political apparatus, while certain Bosniak officials attempt to conceal their incompetence, idleness, and dysfunction by trying to interfere in the electoral processes in Srpska. "They are trying to meddle in the electoral process in Srpska, which should not have happened in the first place and which was imposed, yet despite this, the leadership of Republika Srpska is carrying out activities to demonstrate its democratic capacity," Vasić said. He pointed out that the incompetence of the political elite in the FBiH is reflected in their constant desire to involve themselves in political processes in Republika Srpska, which is not the case with Srpska, its political establishment, or its people. Vasić said that the Election Law clearly defines who may vote for top positions in Republika Srpska and the FBiH, but that this evidently does not suit some individuals. "I cannot believe that certain people fail to understand that BiH is structured so that Republika Srpska comprises 49 percent, and the FBiH 51 percent of the territory, with the Brčko District also included in that arrangement. BiH is divided this way, and power is divided accordingly," Vasić added. He stressed that no one should take pleasure in the complex and conflict-ridden political and security situation in FBiH, and that politicians from that entity should focus on internal pressing issues instead of interfering in affairs that are not theirs. Vasić said he cannot believe that Republika Srpska, even 30 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, continues to be a problem for some, who deliver daily, unsuccessful political low blows and attempt to dismantle it, without realizing that by doing so they are also undermining the fabric of BiH itself.
