KOŠARAC: SUCH "HOLIDAY" - SUCH "STATEHOOD"
SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, told SRNA that Republika Srpska is not interested in Bosniak fabrications regarding November 25 as the so-called Statehood Day of BiH, adding: "Such a holiday, such statehood."
Košarac said that Bosniak politics, through manipulation and historical revisionism, attempt to impose November 25 as the so-called Statehood Day of BiH, serving exclusively to fulfill their political goals and create a unitary state. "BiH does not have a Statehood Day. There is no law on holidays at the BiH level, nor any decision by relevant institutions defining November 25 as the so-called Statehood Day," Košarac noted. He emphasized that continuous fabrications about November 25 as the so-called Statehood Day of BiH will never become reality or truth. "They are trying in vain to build something that does not exist and will never exist, from some imaginary `Bosnian` nation, through a shared identity, to common holidays," Košarac pointed out. Košarac reminded that those who dismantled Yugoslavia in the 1990s now seek to celebrate something that emerged during the very time Yugoslavia was being created. "Today they refer to ZAVNOBiH, yet on March 1, 1992, they destroyed the achievements of November 25. Neither of these two dates can, or will ever, be a shared holiday in BiH," Košarac said firmly. According to him, today's BiH is not based on ZAVNOBiH, but on the Dayton Agreement. "BiH was established on November 21 in Dayton, with the signing of the Dayton Agreement on December 14, 1995, in Paris. It is defined as a state community of two entities and three constituent peoples," Košarac pointed out. He noted that Republika Srpska was founded on January 9, 1992, and that the signing of the Dayton Agreement confirmed its international recognition, affirming that it brought its sovereignty and statehood into Dayton. "Republika Srpska proudly celebrates January 9, its birthday and Republic Day, and observes November 21, the day the Dayton Agreement was initialed. In Republika Srpska, November 25 is a regular working day with no celebrations," Košarac emphasized. The former ZAVNOBiH Day, November 25, is celebrated as the so-called Statehood Day in parts of the Federation of BiH with a Bosniak majority, while Croats do not observe it as a holiday.
