METROPOLITAN LUKIJAN: VISITS BY REPUBLIKA SRPSKA PEOPLE ARE HOLIDAY FOR US

BUDAPEST, NOVEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – When guests from our homeland, Republika Srpska, come to visit, it is a feast day - or a holiday - for us Serbs here in Hungary, and in that spirit, Milorad Dodik, as leader of the Serbs from those areas, and our future, or newly elected, President Siniša Karan are always welcome, said His Eminence, Metropolitan of Budapest Lukijan.

Metropolitan Lukijan emphasized that it is a great honor whenever people from the homeland visit, referring not only to Serbia but also to Republika Srpska, and take the time to meet the Serbian minority in Hungary. "We always have much to discuss. We are all Orthodox and Serbian. What particularly unites us is our Orthodox faith, our Church, which brings us together no matter where we are from," Metropolitan Lukijan told reporters at the Tekelianum in Budapest following a meeting with SNSD leader Milorad Dodik and the newly elected President of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan. He emphasized that there are many Serbian youth and workers in Hungary who have come from various regions, left their families behind, and now study, work, and live here.
