GAJANIN PRESENTS HONORARY DOCTORATE TO SZIJJÁRTÓ
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 27 /SRNA/ – The Rector of the University of Banja Luka Radoslav Gajanin today presented an honorary doctorate to the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.
Gajanin emphasized that Szijjártó has remained consistent throughout his political career in upholding the principles of sovereignty, equality, and cooperation, and that his approach to foreign policy is marked by a clear vision, determination, and genuine commitment to peace and stability in the region. "It is precisely this consistency that has helped Hungary and Republika Srpska build relations based on mutual respect, openness, and joint work on concrete projects," Gajanin said at the award ceremony. He stressed that he is proud that the University of Banja Luka is part of this cooperation, reflected in support for education, research, and scientific initiatives important for development. "Szijjártó has recognized the importance of investing in knowledge and young people, as well as the role of the University as a carrier of progress in any society," Gajanin said. Gajanin noted that the Hungarian foreign minister is today becoming part of the wider academic community of the University of Banja Luka. "On our behalf, I congratulate him on this prestigious recognition and thank him for all he has done — and continues to do — for our students, our academic community, and Republika Srpska," Gajanin said. The University of Banja Luka awards honorary doctorates to distinguished individuals from the country and abroad for exceptional contributions in various fields. To date, 14 such prestigious honors have been awarded.
