BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 27 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan has said today in Banja Luka that cooperation in the field of education between two states or two peoples is the best indicator of progress in their overall relations, as is the case with Republika Srpska and Hungary.

Karan says it is an honour for the University of Banja Luka, as it celebrates 50th anniversary, to award an honorary doctorate to Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, because Srpska and Hungary have had good cooperation for many years in science, technological innovation, and higher education. "Hungary provides scholarships for our students studying in Hungary. Yesterday in Budapest we found new forms of joint cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation. I believe we should include them directly in our academic community through various lecturers," Karan said at the press conference held on the occasion of awarding the honorary doctorate to Szijjártó. He adds it is particularly important to support young people from Republika Srpska and Hungary who have good ideas. "This is an excellent foundation for improving the already good cooperation, and we have created strategic frameworks for long-term cooperation in science, technological innovation, and higher education," Karan said, congratulating Szijjártó on the doctorate. Karan stated that all these efforts should serve as motivation for new successes of Republika Srpska and Hungary.
