CEC’S PROPOSAL REJECTED, DODIK REMAINS SNSD LEADER

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 27 /SRNA/ – The Basic Court Banja Luka has rejected the proposal of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH to delete Milorad Dodik from the register as the authorized representative of SNSD, the court confirmed to SRNA.

On October 22, the CEC proposed that the Basic Court Banja Luka, ex officio, initiate an extrajudicial procedure to remove Milorad Dodik as the authorized person representing SNSD from the register of political organisations maintained by the court. The CEC’s proposal was rejected because no law stipulates that a court maintaining the register of political organisations must initiate, on its own initiative, a procedure to remove a person authorized to represent a political organisation from the register, the Basic Court Banja Luka stated. This decision was issued on November 24 by a three-judge panel of the Basic Court Banja Luka. An appeal to the District Court Banja Luka is allowed within eight days of receiving the decision.
