TRIŠIĆ-BABIČ: SRPSKA SEEKS STABLE, MUTUAL RESPECT-BASED RELATIONS WITH THE UNITED STATES
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 1 /SRNA/ – Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić-Babić emphasized that it is in the interest of Republika Srpska for relations with the United States, one of the key global actors, to remain stable, predictable, and grounded in mutual respect and an understanding of realities on the ground.
During today’s meeting between Trišić-Babić, Director for Western and Central Europe at the US State Department Mark Fleming, and US Embassy Charge d' Affaires in Sarajevo John Ginkel, it was stressed that Republika Srpska and the United States have a solid basis for deepening political, economic, and institutional ties. This is particularly evident in the fields of energy, higher education, digital technologies, and investments in local communities, the Cabinet of the Acting President of Republika Srpska announced. Trišić-Babić has emphasized that Republika Srpska remains committed to cooperation that delivers tangible results for citizens and is open to all initiatives that contribute to economic development, investment, and new jobs. It was stressed that Srpska sees room for strengthening partnerships in the economy and education, especially through projects that connect American investors with local communities in Republika Srpska. The discussion reaffirmed that Republika Srpska believes strong and stable relations with the United States can serve as one of the pillars of long-term stability in BiH—but strictly within the framework of the Constitution, the Dayton Agreement, and the equality of the three constituent peoples. The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to continue dialogue and cooperation on issues of mutual interest, with Republika Srpska confirming its dedication to stability, cooperation, and development, along with the full constitutional competencies granted to it under the Dayton Agreement, the statement said. Assistant Minister for International Cooperation at the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of Republika Srpska, Nemanja Kovačević, also attended the meeting in Istočno Sarajevo.
