CVIJANOVIĆ: HELEZ'S BEHAVIOR UNDERMINES ANY PROSPECT OF SHARED FUTURE

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 4 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, has stressed that with people like Zukan Helez, the minister of defense in the Council of Ministers, it is impossible to build a joint future, coexistence, interethnic trust, or regional relations.

Cvijanović added that this is definite and that Helez has proven it repeatedly, including with his most recent comments. "As with all his previous statements, Helez’s latest insult directed at the president of Serbia is scandalous and shameful. Those disgusting insults and lies about President Vučić that he uttered on ‘Hayat’ TV are something every normal person would be ashamed even to repeat", Cvijanović stated. She emphasized that Helez’s insults aimed at Željana Zovko and Max Primorac, which he made in the same broadcast, are equally disgraceful, adding that through those insults, as well as the ones targeting Vučić, he said far more about himself than about them. "While he offends officials and representatives of neighboring countries, he is simultaneously trying to deny Serbs serving in the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense in the Council of Ministers their right to paid leave for their slava (patron saint's day). Besides being a violation of the law, it is also an attack on the identity of Orthodox Christians employed in that institution", Cvijanović pointed out. She told Helez that Serbs have preserved and proudly celebrated their slava day even in far more difficult times than today. "If various occupiers were unable to forbid it, neither will one ordinary poison-peddler, a convicted abuser, and a convicted liar such as Zukan Helez", Cvijanović added.
