KUZMIĆ: MORE THAN BAM 200 MILLION INVESTED IN FLOOD PROTECTION

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Anđelka Kuzmić said that since 2014 more than BAM 200 million has been directly invested in the flood protection system in Srpska.

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Anđelka Kuzmić said that since 2014 more than BAM 200 million has been directly invested in the flood protection system in Srpska.

"An additional BAM 80 million has been invested indirectly through machinery, projects, and other equipment. This is work that we will continue in the coming period. We must focus on cleaning and maintenance. The Government of Republika Srpska will allocate funds for that. We must protect both people and infrastructure," Kuzmić said in SRNA’s podcast. She also spoke about the autumn sowing season, noting that 66,000 hectares have been planted and that wheat remains the dominant crop. "We expect the value of yields to be around BAM 159 million. It is important to note that climate conditions this year were ideal, with plenty of rainfall and moist soil," Kuzmić said. She added that, after consultations, a new incentives rulebook will be adopted for next year and that the budget meets the needs of farmers. "Taking all parameters into account, we will adopt a new incentives rulebook for the coming year. It will include everything that will yield the best results," she stated. In the new SRNA podcast episode, Kuzmić also discussed next year’s agricultural budget, insurance of agricultural land, the situation in Srpska Forests /Šume Srpske/, and the prevention of African swine fever. The podcast episode featuring Republika Srpska Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Anđelka Kuzmić will be available to our service users, on the YouTube channel and on social media tomorrow from 10:00.
