MINIĆ: FOR SRPSKA ELECTION IS SETTLED, CEC CREATING INSTABILITY
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ – The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić has said that the early presidential elections in Srpska are completed and that the BiH Central Election Commission /CEC/ is exerting unnecessary pressure and creating a sense of insecurity.
"We saw that the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court on the so-called legality of the Srpska Government stalled the moment the CEC received complaints and launched handwriting analyses. If you are conducting handwriting analysis on any individual, how is it possible to know whom that person voted for?" Minić asked. He also questioned why, as he put it, the CEC, which has been causing fuss the entire time, has not removed deceased individuals from the voter registry, but instead waits to do so only when their ID cards expire. Minić added that the CEC is needlessly creating problems and shifting them onto the territory of Srpska. "I spoke with colleagues from Laktaši, Doboj, and Zvornik. If this drags on indefinitely, then let the elections be repeated, and we will all see how each side fares," Minić stressed. He noted that the Government of Srpska is functioning at full capacity and fulfilling all its obligations. "Hungary respects us; whether a colleague from the Federation of BiH respects us is up to him—and that says more about him than about me. BiH will exist only as long as Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH exist, and only as long as we are able to reach agreements that respect mutual interests," Minić told reporters in Banja Luka. The BiH Central Election Commission has ordered the Main Counting Center to conduct a repeat control count of ballots from the early presidential elections in Republika Srpska from 51 regular polling stations in Zvornik, Doboj, Laktaši, Lopare, and Ugljevik.
