SAVIĆ: CEC AIMS TO DISREGARD VOTERS’ CHOICE
MILIĆI, DECEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – Milići Mayor Marko Savić has stated for SRNA that the decision by the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH to annul the results of the early presidential election in Republika Srpska at the polling stations in Koprivno and Dubnica is scandalous, stressing that the absence of any explanation regarding alleged irregularities clearly shows that the aim was to undermine the electoral will of citizens.
"It was obvious that the intention was to annul the elections in Zvornik, Doboj and Laktaši, and then, it seems, other municipalities were added arbitrarily," Savić pointed out. He emphasized that the CEC’s decision was arbitrary and represented an act of sheer self-will. "The question of why we are being punished remains unanswered. Milići is mentioned in the operative part of the decision as a municipality where elections are to be repeated at two polling stations, yet later in the explanation there is not a single word about our municipality, those polling stations, or any alleged irregularities," Savić pointed out. He stressed that it is currently unclear why elections were annulled at the two polling stations in Milići, adding that the SNSD, of which he is a member, will file an appeal against the decision, as it is evident that the CEC’s intention is to devalue the electoral will of citizens. "Imagine being punished and, when you ask why, being told, 'Well, just because.' It remains completely unclear why Milići has been included in the decision to annul the elections," Savić stressed. The Central Election Commission of BiH on Wednesday, December 24, issued a non-final decision annulling the early presidential election results in Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations across 17 electoral units. The early elections were annulled at specific polling stations in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Vlasenica, Zvornik, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gacko, Rudo, Bileća, Milići and Brčko.
