DODIK: BiH COURT UNDERMINES VOTERS’ WILL IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 30 /SRNA/ – Rejecting the SNSD’s appeal against the rerun of the early presidential elections in Republika Srpska, the Court of BiH has openly sided with political violence against Republika Srpska and brutally disregarded the democratic will of its citizens, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik has stated for SRNA.

"With this act, the Court of BiH has once again confirmed that it is willing to act as an executor of political orders from Muslim Sarajevo, opposition parties from Republika Srpska, and foreign mentors who cannot accept the fact that the people of Republika Srpska consistently choose leaders they cannot control," Dodik stressed for SRNA, adding that the SNSD expected nothing different from such a judiciary in BiH. The SNSD leader said that canceling elections and forcibly repeating them is not a legal procedure but a classic electoral coup. "When the results are unfavorable to the opposition in Republika Srpska, political Sarajevo, or Christian Schmidt, the courts and the BiH Central Election Commission are used as a tool to erase the will of the people and replace it with an 'acceptable' outcome," Dodik stated. He pointed out that this is no longer merely an SNSD issue but a matter of the survival of democracy and the constitutional order. If courts can cancel elections based on political instructions, then elections in BiH effectively lose all meaning. "Decisions that dictate who can and cannot win elections will not break Republika Srpska, but they accelerate political division and shatter illusion, if it still exists, of an impartial judiciary at the BiH level and an independent Central Election Commission," Dodik concluded.
