TREBINJE, JANUARY 5 /SRNA/ – The newly built St. Archdeacon Stephen - January 9 Hospital in Trebinje has been officially opened.

TREBINJE, JANUARY 5 /SRNA/ – The newly built St. Archdeacon Stephen - January 9 Hospital in Trebinje has been officially opened.

The hospital doors were symbolically opened to the sound of a heartbeat. His Eminence Metropolitan Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral consecrated the newly constructed hospital. Senior officials of Republika Srpska and Serbia, together with Hospital Director Nedeljko Lambeta, toured the premises. After nearly seventy years, this part of Republika Srpska has received a modern health care facility that fully meets the needs of patients and the standards of contemporary medicine. The new hospital complex is the result of a clear strategic vision and commitment by the leadership of Republika Srpska to invest in people’s health, community security, and the balanced development of all regions of Srpska. The new hospital significantly expands the range of health services in eastern Herzegovina and reduces the need for citizens to seek treatment outside the region. The new facility plans to introduce interventional cardiology services with a specially equipped angiography suite and pacemaker center, as well as comprehensive radiological diagnostics based on a digital platform, including a state-of-the-art CT scanner, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography. A Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is also being developed as a newly established organizational unit, with the introduction of rheumatology services, the expansion of laboratory diagnostics at the secondary and tertiary levels, and the upgrading of existing services such as oxygen therapy. Special emphasis is planned in the field of surgery, which will be equipped with the most modern operating theaters and a surgical block, with the development of multiple specialist branches. The new Trebinje hospital is an institution that guarantees citizens quality health care, while providing health professionals with working conditions worthy of their knowledge and responsibility. It sends a clear message that Republika Srpska is investing in life, health, and the future of its people, creating conditions for people to stay, for security, and development - to the pride of all citizens of Srpska. Following the official opening ceremony, a press conference is planned, which SRNA will broadcast live on its YouTube channel.
