VULIĆ: DAY OF COMMITMENT TO FREEDOM, STABILITY AND SRPSKA

SARAJEVO, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Day-January 9, is not a day of division but a day of love for freedom, peace, and Republika Srpska, which was being created in difficult times and has survived thanks to faith in humanity, SNSD Head of the Club in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić told SRNA.

"While others still do not know what they want, while they neither respect the Dayton Agreement, nor its signatories, nor the peace that ended the tragic conflict in BiH, Republika Srpska chooses stability and responsibility. Not hatred, not wasted time, but work, development, and the future," Vulić said. According to her, Republika Srpska makes these choices because it knows one fundamental truth - where the hearth lives, so do honorable people. "And that is why Republika Srpska is moving forward," Vulić stated. She stressed that SNSD leader Milorad Dodik and his team have built Republika Srpska with a clear vision, for it to be a home of equal rights and opportunities for all, where no one is judged by their name but by the kind of person they are, where respect for others prevails, forgiveness is practiced, and the future is embraced. January 9 is celebrated as Republika Srpska Day because on that date in 1992 it was established under its original name, Republic of the Serb People in BiH. Republika Srpska was founded by Serb deputies in the then Assembly of BiH after they were outvoted on key issues concerning the survival of Yugoslavia, while representatives of the other two peoples moved toward secession against the will of the Serbs, who held the status of a constituent people. The name Republic of the Serb People in BiH was used until February 28, 1992, when the first Constitution was proclaimed and the name was changed to Serb Republic of BiH. That name was used until August 12, 1992, when it was changed to Serb Republic, and in September 1992 it was replaced by the current name – Republika Srpska.
