MINIĆ: COMMEMORATION IN PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE, WITHOUT OFFENDING ANYONE

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić said that Republika Srpska is marking January 9 – the Day of the Republic – in a pleasant atmosphere, without offending anyone.

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić said that Republika Srpska is marking January 9 – the Day of the Republic – in a pleasant atmosphere, without offending anyone.

Minić recalled that the commemoration began on Monday, January 5, with the opening of a hospital in Trebinje, that the Central Monument to Fallen Soldiers was unveiled today in Banja Luka, and that a ceremonial parade will be held tomorrow as the culmination of the festivities. "We celebrate in our own spirit, we do not offend anyone and we are not against anyone. All guests are welcome, especially our brothers from Serbia," Minić told reporters ahead of the ceremonial academy marking the Day of the Republic. He expressed satisfaction that, during the events marking the holiday, he had the opportunity to host Serbian Prime Minister Macut and ministers in the Government of Serbia. Commenting on the assessment of the OHR that the marking of January 9 represents a clear disregard for decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, Minić questioned how many other things have already been undermined. "Should we respect a decision of the Constitutional Court in which foreigners sit, whose mandate has expired, and whose mandate has been extended by an illegal and illegitimate High Representative? Should we respect that, and where does that ultimately lead us?" Minić asked.
