NAZI OUTBURSTS - COMMON PHENOMENON IN CROATIAN SOCIETY
BELGRADE, JANUARY 13 /SRNA/ – President of the Union of Serbs from the Region Miodrag Linta assessed that worse than the singing of an Ustasha song in Baška Voda near Split, which glorifies the slaughter of Serbs, is "only the actual carrying out of such slaughter," adding that such Nazi outbursts have become a common phenomenon in Croatian society.
"This is one of many examples showing that Croatia has not come to terms with its genocidal and Ustasha past," Linta said, according to a statement from the Union of Serbs from the Region. He warned that in Croatia the values of anti-fascism and human and minority rights are being systematically and deliberately violated, that Ustasha ideology and the genocide against Serbs in the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/ are being glorified, and that the idea of a healthy and truly humane society has never taken root in that country. "One of the key reasons is the fact that denazification and deustashization have never been carried out in Croatia. Because of this, Croatia is unable to become a modern state and has long since become a factor of instability in the Western Balkans," Linta said. He believes that Serbia therefore has a constitutional, national, and civilizational obligation to launch an active campaign for the international recognition of the genocide committed against the Serbian people in the NDH. "The prerequisites for this are the adoption of a resolution in parliament, the establishment of a Memorial Center, and the designation of a Day of Remembrance for Serbian victims of genocide," Linta said. In a hospitality venue in Baška Voda near Split, young Croatian neo-Nazis enthusiastically sang and danced to a song glorifying Ustasha ideology and crimes against Serbs. This is one in a series of similar incidents in Croatia.
