DODIK’S APPEAL AGAINST COURT OF BIH RULING TO BE SUBMITTED TO STRASBOURG IN COMING DAYS
BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 19 /SRNA/ – An appeal filed by the defense of SNSD leader Milorad Dodik against the verdict of the Court of BiH, sentencing him to one year in prison and banning him from political activity for six years for failing to comply with decisions of Christian Schmidt, will be submitted to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in the coming days.
“We will try to make use of that option, and we hope there is some objectivity. If they accept it, if they examine it, there is no other outcome than for everything to be annulled,” Dodik told ATV. Bearing in mind that everything is being politicized and that the court is becoming a political rather than a judicial body, Dodik added that he cannot say with certainty what to expect. “However, it is very important in my case to make use of this instance as well,” Dodik explained.
