SKI-CENTER "IGRIŠTA" AS PROMISING REGIONAL TOURISM PROJECT
VLASENICA, JANUARY 23 /SRNA/– The second winter season at the "Igrišta" Ski Center near Vlasenica has attracted both domestic winter sports enthusiasts and tourists, primarily from Serbia, while the management’s goal is to attract investors and develop accommodation facilities to encourage longer stays by skiers.
Isidora Trivković, public relations associate of the Jahorina Olympic Center, told SRNA that the twentieth day of skiing with a large number of visitors confirms that "Igrišta" is an excellent project worth investing in further. She noted that the "Igrišta" Ski Center is among the most modern in the region, featuring a six-seat chairlift with a capacity of 2,500 skiers per hour, two new ski slopes stretching two kilometers and covered by an artificial snowmaking system, as well as a beginner training area with a conveyor belt. Trivković emphasized that "Igrišta" benefits from a favorable geographic location, halfway between Vlasenica and Han Pijesak, close to several larger cities. The area has recently been designated an air spa, providing an additional benefit for visitors of all generations. She added that the majority of skiers currently come from Serbia and nearby cities in BiH, but that visits are still largely limited to day trips due to the lack of accommodation facilities. "The goal is to attract investors and build accommodation units in order to complete the overall tourism offer," Trivković said, stressing that the development of the ski center is in the interest of the entire region as it contributes to economic and overall development. She also highlighted plans to develop summer tourism, announcing that, following the Jahorina model, "Igrišta" is intended to become a year-round destination operating 365 days a year, with the construction of hiking and cycling trails and restaurants planned. Trivković reminded that the complex also includes the "Ozon" Bar - an oasis of peace where skiers can take a break, refresh themselves, and enjoy a quality selection of international and local cuisine, as well as a rental service offering ski equipment hire.
