TWO JUDGES OF INCOMPLETE BiH CONSTITUTIONAL COURT VOTED AGAINST DECISION ON SRPSKA GOVERNMENT UNCONSTITUTIONALITY

SARAJEVO, JANUARY 24 /SRNA/ – Judges of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH Marin Vukoja and Valerija Galić, voted against the decision declaring the previous composition of the Republika Srpska Government unconstitutional, Istraga.ba has learned from sources within the court.

The same source states that Vukoja and Galić insisted for two days that the requests for a constitutional review of the Republika Srpska Government be dismissed, as they believe it is pointless to deliberate over something that no longer exists. At one point, at least one of the three foreign judges was on the verge of supporting the positions of Vukoja and Galić, in which case the required majority of five votes to adopt the decision would not have existed. In the end, however, the foreign judges voted in favour of the decision declaring the previous Republika Srpska Government, headed by Savo Minić, unconstitutional. The decision was adopted with five votes in favour and two against. Voting in favour were Bosniak judges Mirsad Ćeman and Larisa Velić, as well as foreign judges Angelika Nußberger of Germany, Helen Keller of Switzerland, and Ledi Bianku of Albania. The incomplete Constitutional Court, which currently has no Serb judges, yesterday adopted a decision declaring the previous composition of the Republika Srpska Government "unconstitutional".
