KARAN: VICTORY IS STATESMANLIKE RESPONSE OF THE PEOPLE TO ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 8 /SRNA/ – SNSD candidate for President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan has thanked the citizens of Srpska for their support, saying that his victory is a statesmanlike response of the people to the attempt to undermine the constitutional order and the position of Republika Srpska.
"I express my gratitude to everyone who supported me and our Republika Srpska. Thank you for all defending, through me, what we have defended several times before, and that is the sovereignty of the Serb people to decide for themselves," Karan told reporters in Banja Luka in his first address after the repeated early presidential election. He emphasized that this is the night from which they will continue to work even harder in the interest of Republika Srpska and the progress of all its citizens. "The Serb people recognize that these have not been ordinary elections, but a plebiscite in which we fought against great enemies, such as Christian Schmidt. We will never give up the constitutional order and the position of Srpska for anything," Karan said. He stressed that this was a defense of the institution of the President of Srpska, the Constitution, and the Dayton autonomy. "Srpska is permanent, created with wisdom, defended with sacrifice, and preserved with the determination of our people," Karan said. He stated that the institutions of Republika Srpska are not and will not be subordinate to anyone, but only to the Serb people, who will always remain above everything. According to him, decisions in Republika Srpska will be made in institutions, exclusively in accordance with the will of the people. He thanked the voters for their votes and said that he is now the president of all citizens of Republika Srpska, without divisions, devoted to every individual and to the homeland, Republika Srpska.
