KOŠARAC: ELECTION OUTCOME SHOWS THAT SERBS DON'T WANT TRAITORS IN POWER
SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 9 /SRNA/ - The decisive victory of Siniša Karan and the policies of Milorad Dodik in the repeated early elections for president of Republika Srpska confirmed that the Serb people do not want traitors in power and will not be shaken by the pressures from Sarajevo, Christian Schmidt, the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, or the Constitutional Court of BiH, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac told SRNA.
Košarac emphasized that Republika Srpska and the Serb people once again demonstrated yesterday who they trust and whom they support. "The citizens of Republika Srpska have once again elected nationally responsible politicians who defend our freedom, our homeland, our national identity, and our interests. They made it clear that they do not want those who would bring chaos, undermine the institutions of Republika Srpska, and serve foreign interests," Košarac said. He emphasized that those who lined up against Republika Srpska were defeated. "Fiasco for Schmidt's minions! They embarrassed and humiliated themselves. They bowed to the Sarajevo political scene and to Schmidt. They harassed and tormented the public in Republika Srpska with false narratives about electoral fraud," Košarac said. He said that the opposition was never satisfied with Milorad Dodik, Siniša Karan, the Government of Republika Srpska, or the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and has now reached the stage where they are even dissatisfied with the people themselves. Košarac also pointed out that it is unacceptable for them to condemn and insult the free will of the citizens of Republika Srpska, expressed in the elections they themselves insisted on. "That is the schizophrenic politics of the opposition, which wants to blame the citizens of Republika Srpska for their own failed and treacherous policies," Košarac said. Following the repeated early elections for president of Republika Srpska, SNSD candidate Siniša Karan received 224,384 votes, or 50.54 percent, and SDS candidate Branko Blanuša received 213,513 votes, or 48.09 percent, according to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH after 100 percent of polling stations were processed.
