NOSOVIĆ SAYS CELEBRATING SERB BLOODSHED IS CRIMINAL ACT
BIJELJINA, FEBRUARY 28 /SRNA/ - The president of the Republika Srpska Camp Inmates Association, Anđelko Nosović, told SRNA that celebrating the shedding of someone’s blood is a criminal act, as is done in the Federation of BiH by marking March 1 as a holiday, the date of the killing of a Serb wedding guest in Sarajevo 34 years ago.
"The declaration of March 1 as a Day of Mourning in Republika Srpska is completely natural, because Serb blood was shed in Sarajevo on that day in 1992," Nosović said. He pointed out that the entire normal world celebrates the end of war and rejoices at the cessation of bloodshed, but that in the Federation of BiH there is an anomaly in celebrating the beginning of war, which is beyond all reason. According to him, the Federation of BiH celebrates bloodshed as an "independence day", while Republika Srpska is disputed when it celebrates January 9 - Republic Day. "These are double standards, a sign of division and animosity. This leads nowhere, but unfortunately we are forced to respond in this way to make it clear that celebrating the shedding of Serb blood is a criminal act," Nosović said. The Republika Srpska Government declared March 1 a Day of Mourning in connection with the tragic events that took place on that date in 1992, which led to the outbreak of the tragic conflict in BiH. In parts of the Federation of BiH with a Bosniak majority, March 1 is marked as the so-called independence day of BiH, as an illegal referendum on the independence and secession of BiH from the SFRY was held on that date. Serbs in Republika Srpska remember March 1 for the killing of a Serb wedding guest in Sarajevo, which was the trigger for the start of the war. This tragic date is not celebrated in Republika Srpska. Instead, November 21 is marked - the day when the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH was initialed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, which marked the end of the civil war in BiH.
