CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST HAYAT TV JOURNALIST FOR INCITING NATIONAL HATRED
SARAJEVO, MARCH 18 /SRNA/ – The head of the SNSD caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić told SRNA that together with party colleague Milorad Kojić she has filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office of BiH against Hayat TV journalist Emerin Ahmetašević from Sarajevo for the criminal offense of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance.
Vulić stated that the complaint notes that on Monday, March 16, while following a session of the House of Representatives from the press room, Ahmetašević directed an insulting remark at her and Kojić during their speeches, calling them "genuine Chetniks". The criminal complaint, the contents of which SRNA had access to, states that RTRS journalist Branka Kusmuk informed Vulić and Kojić about the remark during a press conference by asking a question related to the qualifications presented. As stated, Ahmetašević then interrupted Vulić and Kojić as they began responding to the question, which continued with a dispute in the lobby of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH on a motorcyclist from Serbia who was beaten in Sarajevo simply for wearing a T-shirt with the Serbian tricolor, during which the reported individual allegedly said, "he deserved it". Video materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office as evidence along with the complaint, and it has been proposed that, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Law of BiH, an urgent order be issued to seize video recordings captured by television cameras of media outlets present in the lobby of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH due to the risk of their deletion. The complaint also proposes that the Prosecutor's Office question all journalists from the press room, as well as those present in the lobby, regarding the circumstances of the statements made toward the MPs. The criminal complaint states that Ahmetašević committed the offense of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance.
