MINIĆ: SRPSKA CITIZENS WILL BE REFUNDED 10 FENINGS PER LITER OF FUEL

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić says the Government has completely waived the excise duties paid into the budget, which will enable Srpska citizens to be refunded 10 fenings per liter of fuel.

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić says the Government has completely waived the excise duties paid into the budget, which will enable Srpska citizens to be refunded 10 fenings per liter of fuel.

Minić explained that the model under which citizens will be refunded will be similar to the model used for the distribution of subsidized fuel, in order to reduce administrative procedures and the collection of receipts. "We will make it somewhat more complex in the sense that a citizen must appear with an identity card issued in Republika Srpska and cannot refuel if the vehicle has foreign license plates," Minić said at a press conference in Banja Luka following the Government session. He emphasized that this decision will initially be implemented for one month and that its implementation will be monitored. Minić stressed that it is precisely known how much diesel and gasoline Republika Srpska consumes on average and that there will not be any major shortcomings. "I hope it is now clear to everyone who had sincere intentions, who reacted first, and who spoke about what should be done. All the talk about someone reducing excise duties was empty, while those who talked about it did not propose it," Minić said. He added that in the coming days the Government will contact petrol stations so that citizens’ bills can be reduced on the spot, after which the Government will reimburse the stations for those funds. "With all these measures, along with salary increases, Republika Srpska is introducing measures that are most appropriate to the situation," Minić said, adding that the Government is making maximum efforts to help citizens. He expressed hope that the Middle East conflict will end as soon as possible, that the transport of energy products will proceed without disruption, and that oil prices will stabilize.
