KOŠARAC: ADDING LOCAL CARRIERS ISSUE TO SESSION AGENDA CRUCIAL

SARAJEVO, MARCH 30 /SRNA/ – Council of Ministers Deputy Chair Staša Košarac says that adding local carriers issue to the session agenda of the EU–BiH Transport, Energy, Environment and Regional Development Subcommittee, which will be held on June 10 in Brussels, is crucial.

"That is why we insist that the EU accept our proposal to include the item on the session agenda – the issue of the duration of professional drivers' stay in international road transport and its impact on the transport sector in BiH," Košarac emphasized. He has pointed out that this is a clearly expressed position of the institutions of both Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, as well as the state-level institutions, adding that the EU is expected to accept this as a basis for dialogue on the pressing problem the BiH carriers have been facing. Košarac says the EU has so far not shown genuine commitment or readiness to accommodate BiH carriers but, on the contrary, has shown its true face and clearly demonstrated that it is neither a partner nor a friend. "Therefore, I will repeat the position on /SNSD/ leader /Milorad/ Dodik being right – no decisions on issues of a European nature should be adopted at the joint level until the local carriers- related issue is resolved," Košarac posted on Instagram. He says he will closely monitor whether the EU will accept the local carriers issue to be discussed at the upcoming session of the Subcommittee on Transport, Energy, Environment and Regional Development, after which everything will become much clearer.
