KOJIĆ: EFFORTS TO STRIP SRPSKA INSTITUTIONS OF POWERS WILL NOT SUCCEED
SARAJEVO, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ – SNSD club member in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Milorad Kojić has stated for SRNA that attempts to completely undermine the constitutional powers of the Republika Srpska police, pursued through the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH, will not succeed.
He stated that the aim of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH is to fully strip the Ministry of Interior /MOI/ of Republika Srpska of its competencies. Kojić said that the Constitutional Court of BiH is challenging certain provisions of the Law on Police and Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, arguing that they fall within the jurisdiction of the Agency for Identification Documents /IDDEEA/ and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH. He reminded that, through a parliamentary question, he had raised the issue of IDDEEA’s activities related to electronic signatures, which he said directly encroach on the competencies of the Republika Srpska MOI. “They attempted to carry out police reform in the past, but thanks to the leader of the largest political party in BiH, Milorad Dodik, that effort failed,” Kojić noted. He added that the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH is now being used as a tool to strip the Republika Srpska police of its powers. “As before, they will not succeed. Competencies are clearly defined, including in the area of databases for personal documents,” Kojić warned. Kojić told all those seeking to weaken the institutions of Republika Srpska to start working on protection of the constitutional order of BiH, as prescribed by the Constitution. “Do not use your decisions to change the Constitution of BiH or abolish provisions of the Constitution of Republika Srpska,” Kojić said. The Court of BiH confirmed last June that IDDEEA had conducted and continues to conduct all activities related to the introduction of electronic signatures and electronic identity unlawfully.
