KARAN: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA - THE GREATEST SOURCE OF OUR POLICE’S STRENGTH
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 4 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan has said today that the strength of the Republika Srpska Police members comes from the people who created it, from the sacrifice of their predecessors and Republika Srpska itself.
"Their strength is what we build and defend, which is Republika Srpska. This is an opportunity when we must remember precisely that greatest source of our strength and the strength of our police," Karan told the press in Zalužani, where Police Day, April 4, was ceremonially marked. Karan expressed special gratitude to the 782 members of the Ministry of Interior who built their lives into the foundations of Republika Srpska, as well as to more than 30 police officers who lost their lives after 1995 in line of duty while protecting the security of everyone in Republika Srpska. "This is a time when we must safeguard our police. Republika Srpska is today a peaceful and free place. But, security is not something you receive as a gift from heaven. Security is something you must take care of every day," Karan emphasized. According to him, in order for the Interior Ministry to succeed in this, as it has done so far, it is necessary for all institutions to contribute to strengthening the ministry, both in personnel and through equipment. "In that way we will give our police the capacity and ability to defend themselves against all the challenges that lie ahead," Karan said.
