THE HAGUE TRIBUNAL SHOWS IT WAS ESTABLISHED AS A TORTURE CHAMBER FOR SERBS
SREBRENICA, APRIL 25 /SRNA/ - The monstrous treatment of General Ratko Mladić by the Hague Tribunal shows that this court was established to serve as a torture chamber and execution ground for Serbs, said Branimir Kojić, president of the Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians of Srebrenica.
Kojić stressed that what the Hague Tribunal is doing in the case of General Mladić is nothing less than a "rape of justice and trampling of basic human rights." "They hunted Serbs and took them to The Hague prisons, deliberately providing negligent medical treatment, if it can even be called that, because it was actually silent killing, not treatment," Kojić pointed out. According to him, the Hague Tribunal once again wants to show its power to the Serbian people and prove what is already known, that the Serbian people and all Serbs tried in The Hague did not receive a fair trial or conditions worthy of a human being. "General Mladić must urgently be released for medical treatment in Serbia, as the right to healthcare is a fundamental human right," Kojić emphasized. He stated that the Court of BiH follows the example of the Hague Tribunal, using the same methods when it comes to Serbian convicts. Kojić added that the families of Serbian victims will forever be grateful to General Mladić for everything he did so that Serbs today have their Republika Srpska and freedom. "History will show who and what Ratko Mladić was, but what he is going through in The Hague will certainly serve as an example of how basic human rights were violated, particularly the right to medical treatment," Kojić concluded. The family of General Ratko Mladić and his lawyer, Dragan Ivetić, have submitted a request to the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals for his urgent release for treatment in Serbia due to his extremely serious health condition. General Mladić suffered a stroke on April 10, and his condition has further deteriorated, as he has serious neurological, cardiovascular, and kidney-related issues. He has been in the prison hospital for two full years, and for the past year and a half has been bedridden, while the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals in The Hague refuses to grant him temporary release for treatment.
