MILOVANOVIĆ: POLITICAL SARAJEVO STILL BACKS TERRORISTS
BELGRADE, MAY 4 /SRNA/ – The continued blocking by BiH Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić of an initiative by Serb member Željka Cvijanović to designate the "Muslim Brotherhood" and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorist organizations in BiH is further proof that political Sarajevo still supports terrorists, security expert Anatolij Milovanović said.
Milovanović told SRNA that Cvijanović should continue to insist on this issue, primarily for security reasons, but also because the position of Republika Srpska, thanks to the diplomatic efforts of its leadership, is significantly changing, and the truth is increasingly reaching the world that Orthodox Christians in BiH were the first victims of Islamic extremists in Europe after World War II. "The legal and diplomatic struggle of Republika Srpska's leadership against terrorism is of great importance and Cvijanović should be fully supported in persisting. Given Republika Srpska's position in the current geopolitical conflicts, this is a step of major importance in identifying real security threats," Milovanović said. He warned, however, that this is also the last moment to act because, according to numerous reports, the armed conflict in Ukraine is entering its final phase, with assessments that radical extremists in the Balkans will be activated by their mentors after it ends. Milovanović believes that once hostilities in Ukraine cease, or after what he described as Kyiv's capitulation, those who initiated wars after the fall of the Berlin Wall will start a new one. "The frozen conflict in the territory of the former SFRY represents ideal conditions for that. We can expect renewed armed clashes, and the first echelon on the Muslim side will be these Islamic extremists and religious fanatics who abuse religion to achieve political goals," Milovanović assessed. He pointed out that the "Muslim Brotherhood" is just one of the names for terrorist intervention units that, throughout the turbulent history of the region, were commanded by the intelligence services of occupying powers. "At one time it was the SS `Hanjar Division,` formed by Himmler's officers, and later NATO and Islamic countries’ intelligence services formed, financed and controlled the `El Mujahideen` unit. We know the crimes they committed during the 1992–1995 war, and they were not held accountable", Milovanović stated. He reminded that after the war, they remained in Dayton BiH with the support of political authorities from Sarajevo, and that Wahhabi para-jamaats were later formed as a new mode of operation, which he claims are under the direct control of British intelligence. Milovanović added that those who led Bosniaks during and after the war enabled members of the "El Mujahideen" unit to spread their views among the Muslim population, especially the youth, "with scientifically established psychosocial pathology, while inciting and committing terrorist offenses." "The consequence is the constant strengthening of extremist forces, provocations against the non-Muslim, primarily Serb population in the Federation of BiH, and, most worryingly, recorded terrorist acts on the ground," Milovanović said. He stressed that these terrorists were part of the so-called Army of BiH and that individuals linked to terrorism were never expelled from the country, even though legal provisions allowed for such measures. Milovanović underlined that BiH's competent institutions have done nothing concrete in practice to expel documented members of terrorist formations who used the war as an entry point into the country. According to him, most jihadists remained living in BiH primarily due to political support from Muslim structures within the authorities at the level of joint institutions. "It is quite certain that part of the Muslim political leadership in BiH expects reciprocal support from terrorist groups in any potential armed conflict in BiH. That is why they remain untouchable for judicial and security institutions, as seen in the case of the initiative by the Serb member of the BiH Presidency," Milovanović said. Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated that Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić did not support designating the "Muslim Brotherhood" and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorist organizations because they are avoiding the issue, adding that her intention was for BiH to demonstrate it has distanced itself from such influence.
