GOGANOVIĆ: SCHMIDT’S RESIGNATION CLEAR MESSAGE TO OFFICIAL SARAJEVO THAT GEOPOLITICAL CIRCUMSTANCES ARE CHANGING
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MAY 11 /SRNA/ - The resignation of Christian Schmidt is a clear indication that the time has passed when certain international representatives attempted to manage political processes in BiH outside the will of democratically elected institutions and without the consensus of the constituent peoples, emphasized Aleksandar Goganović, Deputy Minister of Defence in the Council of Ministers.
Goganović told SRNA that BiH can survive exclusively as a community of two equal entities and three constituent peoples, in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, not through impositions. "It is time for local politicians to take responsibility for the future through dialogue and agreement, with mutual respect and understanding. Any attempt at centralization and undermining the competencies of Republika Srpska only further deepens the crisis in BiH," Goganović pointed out. He assessed that official Sarajevo must seriously analyze new geopolitical processes and understand that international circumstances are rapidly changing. "Instead of relying on the interventionism of illegitimate foreigners and attempts at political domination, it is necessary to accept the reality of the Dayton-based BiH and begin respecting Republika Srpska and its constitutional competencies as an equal factor without which BiH has no future," Goganović stated. He stressed that Republika Srpska remains consistently committed to peace, dialogue, and respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement, but likewise will not accept models in which illegitimate foreigners make political decisions instead of the legitimately elected representatives of the peoples in BiH.
