DRONE HITS ELECTRICAL GENERATOR AT BARAKAH NUCLEAR PLANT

ABU DHABI, MAY 17 /SRNA/ - A drone strike caused a fire at an electrical generator at the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region, the Abu Dhabi Media Office announced.

The drone struck a generator located outside the inner perimeter of the nuclear facility. No injuries were reported, radiological safety levels were not affected, and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation confirmed that the plant’s core systems continue to operate normally.
