NEBENZYA: TRUMP SINCERE EFFORTS FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE

NEW YORK, MAY 19 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ – The U.S. President Donald Trump is sincerely striving to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, while Russia is grateful for his support of the ceasefire initiative marking Victory Day, stated Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.

"I would like to thank Trump for his sincere efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict. We are also grateful for the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative for a ceasefire on May 8 and 9, during a time sacred to all peoples of the former Soviet Union - Victory Day," Nebenzya said during a session of the UN Security Council. He stressed that Moscow does not see signals from Kyiv indicating readiness to make meaningful progress toward resolving the conflict. "The negotiation process is currently at a dead end," Nebenzya added.
